In the early 2000s, the Magic Treehouse book series held a writing contest asking kids to submit new ideas for stories. The winning prize was a cardboard treehouse. The day it came in the mail was the day my brother and I learned our words had power. We also learned that a cardboard treehouse, flipped in reverse, makes the perfect puppet show stage.
